What Toppings are Healthy on Porridge?

I have wholemeal porridge pretty much every morning. It is a great and healthy start to my day! But the porridge on it’s own doesn’t have much flavour and me being a sweet tooth, I need something more – but still want to maintain the healthiness of it!

So what can you add to make it taste better?

I just bought these packets of Linwoods Milled Flaxseeds. These are basically crushed variations of different nuts and seeds, to provide an easy to sprinkle health benefit to your porridge, smoothies, salads and pretty much anything you want!

Flaxseeds have a Low glycemic index (gi) for weight management and are an excellent source of selenium and magnesium. These packets are a highly effective antioxidant and contributes to the production of energy in every cell in the body.

What else can you add to your porridge?

Some great alternatives to sugar is:

  • Manuka Honey
  • Cinnamon powder
  • Strawberries or Goji Berries
  • Blueberries
  • Banana

But try to stay away from Sugar!!
